Porter Goss
LEGI-SLATE News Service staff Rep. Porter Goss (R-Fla.) chairs the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, a panel that supports giving authorized law enforcement officers the means to immediately decrypt encoded files and communications. Goss, a former clandestine services officer for the Central Intelligence Agency and former intelligence officer for the U.S. Army, was first elected to Congress in 1988.
